Rose essential oil
Rose oil is the most valuable essential oil in the world and is known as the queen of essential oils.
Many experts in the perfume industry consider this essential oil to be the most important raw material for perfume production. This essential oil is also consumed in many other industries like cosmetics, health, pharmaceuticals and food.
Types of rose essential oils:
- FIRST ROSE Oil
During the distillation of rose petals, a large amount of oil is absorbed in distilled water.
From the distillation of fresh rose flowers with water vapor, the first essential oil of rose is obtained and floats as a layer of yellow liquid on the surface of the rose resulting from the distillation of these flowers. Rose oil isolated from this oily water is the first rose oil (“direct oil”)
- Second ROSE OIL
Through repeated distillation of oily rose water, we extract alcohol-soluble rose oil (indirect oil).
If we distil the rose water again with steam, we collect the second essential oil and the second rose water. This essential oil also appears as a layer of yellow liquid on the surface of the second rose water, but it is almost twice as much as the first essential oil and much better in terms of quality, and it contains very fragrant substances in the rose.
- Tom Rose Oil
The most valuable product of the rose, which has been dubbed Liquid Gold, is its total essential oil obtained by adding the first “direct” and the second “indirect” rose essential oils to each other. Distillation of every 3 tons of roses produces only one kilogram of total essential oil.
Rose Phenylethyl Alcohol
(water-soluble rose oil)
Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol, a water-soluble constituent of rose oil with a pleasant floral odour is recovered from the residual water of the distillation process.
The substance has antimicrobial properties and is a common ingredient in food and medicine preservatives, flavorings, personal care products and perfumes.
Dried Roses
A range of organic Damask rose products includes naturally air-dried rose buds and rose petals. The sweet fragrances dried roses are used for the production of extracts, in herbal teas, salads, as a spice ingredient, confectionary or in jams. Dried roses are also used in art and handmade.
